Travelers should take direction from their commands.
On March 5, 2025, Mr. Darin S. Selnick, Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, issued a memorandum, “Guidance for the Use of Government Travel Charge Cards by DoD Civilian Employees,” which directed the suspension of most GTCCs held by civilian personnel, the cancellation of future civilian official, non-exempt travel reservations, and the return of those currently traveling in support of non-exempt official business. Travelers who need to cancel or modify their travel should follow the procedures outlined below.
Modifying Reservations
- Use the Defense Travel System (DTS) to modify travel plans [PDF] if you are currently on temporary duty (TDY).
- Travelers who do not have access to DTS can find information on self-service options.
- Travelers who cannot make use of the self-service options should call their Travel Management Company (TMC) for assistance.
Cancelling Authorizations
GTCC Balances
