The Department of War (DoW) has temporarily increased 2026 BAH rates for the Abilene, TX/Dyess AFB area (TX270) in response to housing market changes. The new rates are approximately 24% higher on average, with increases ranging from 18-28% based on pay grade and dependency status.
Key Information
- Effective Date: May 16, 2026.
- Eligibility: All BAH-eligible members assigned to the TX270 Military Housing Area will automatically receive the new rate. No action is required.
- Expiration: These temporary rates expire on December 31, 2026. New rates for 2027 will be announced later and may be different.
