UTD/CTD FOR MAP/CAP 30-25(I), Clarify the 800 Mile Roundtrip Rule for Privately Owned Airplane, Boat, or HelicopterThis item clarifies that the 400 miles one way/800-miles roundtrip policy does not apply to privately owned vehicle travel by airplane, boat, or helicopter. If a traveler elects to use a privately owned airplane, boat, or helicopter, then a cost comparison is required regardless of the distance traveled to the temporary duty location. UTD/CTD for MAP/CAP 31-24(E), Add Jordan, Joint Training Center, as an Administrative Household Goods (HHG) Weight Allowance LocationThis item adds Jordan, Joint Training Center, as an administrative Household Goods (HHG) Weight Allowance Location. In accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), paragraph 051402, household goods (HHG) weight allowances can be administratively reduced at a permanent duty station (PDS) outside the continental United States (OCONUS) based on conditions at that location. UTD/CTD FOR MAP/CAP 31-25(E), Reimbursement of Multiple Travelers Renting a Vehicle and Purchasing FuelThis item adds the authority JTR, par. 020209 and Table 2-8 to reimburse rental car fuel and oil expenses to additional travelers when properly listed on the Company rental documentation or rental agreement under the U.S. Government Rental Car Agreement #5, paragraph 16. Additional drivers added to the documentation may be reimbursed for fuel charges. However, all other charges identified in Table 2-8 shall remain only reimbursable to the traveler booking the rental vehicle. Effective June 1, 2025.6/1/2025
UTD/CTD for MAP/CAP 31-26(I), Clarification of Exceptions for the Integrated Lodging Program (ILP) and Retirement of the ILP SupplementThis item is an administrative update to the lodging sections of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Specifically, it incorporates Air Force recommendations to clarify the use of commercial lodging when government quarters are unavailable, details exceptions to the Integrated Lodging Program, and clarifies authorization procedures for nonconventional lodging, per 41 C.F.R. § 301-11.7. Additionally, this action retires JTR Supplement, “Department of War (DoW) Integrated Lodging Program (ILP)” and incorporates its necessary information into JTR, par. 020303. UTD/CTD for MAP/CAP 34-26(I), Clarify Secretarial Process Designation of Special Operation MissionsThis item clarifies the Secretarial Process for special operations travel or missions funded under the Major Force Program – 11, the approval authority is the Assistant Secretary of War for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict (ASW(SO/LIC)), or subordinate level specified by ASW(SO/LIC), or their designated representative. UTD/CTD for MAP/CAP 36-22(I), Replace "Gas" with "Fuel"The Federal Register was updated to implement a final rule proposed by the General Services Administration. The update changes references of “gas” to “fuel” and further defines fuel to account for other types of vehicle power sources, such as hydrogen, propane, and electricity. UTD/CTD FOR MAP/CAP 36-25(E), Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Definition UpdateThis item modifies the current definition of POV in Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Appendix A. A request to update the definition and clarify that vehicles shipped as a POV are being used as the primary means of transportation at the new PDS related to the execution of Global POV Contract V (GPC V). The update shall also clarify that large RVs, such as the Class A and C, are precluded from the usage of the POV shipping and storage entitlements. Effective June 1, 2025.6/1/2025
