UTD FOR MAP 74-22(R), TEMPORARY LODGING EXPENSE INCREASE.PDFAs part of the Secretary of Defense’s initiative on “Taking Care of Our Service Members and Families,” the Secretary directed an increase in the standard time limitation for temporary lodging expense (TLE) from 10 days to 14 days during permanent change of station (PCS) moves in CONUS. Additionally, the 5-day time limitation during PCS moves from CONUS to OCONUS moves will be increased to 7 days.10/1/2022
UTD for MAP 74-23(R), Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) Extension - Palmdale/Edwards AFB, CA (MHA CA457)Under JTR, par. 050601-B3, this item authorizes a TLE extension for the Palmdale/Edwards AFB, CA Military Housing Area (MHA) CA457 because it has determined that the MHA is experiencing a housing shortage that prevents Service members from obtaining adequate permanent Government-owned, Government-controlled, privatized or private-sector rental housing.1/3/2024
UTD FOR MAP 75-22(R), DISLOCATION ALLOWANCE (DLA) 2022 RATE INCREASE.PDFIn support of the Secretary of Defense's initiative on "Taking Care of Our Service Members and Families," this item increases the Dislocation Allowance (DLA) rates for E-1 through E-4 by $500. Additionally, E-5 and E-6 rates will also be increased. These increases are effective 1 October, 2022. The current methodology of increasing all rates DLA rates based he annual basic pay increase will be effective January 1, 2023.10/1/2022
UTD for MAP 81-23(R), Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) Extension – Moody AFB, GA (GA081)This item reinstates the Moody AFB, GA (GA081) Military Housing Area (MHA)as a location to receive an extended Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE). The authority for action is 37 U.S.C. § 452(b)(11). Due to a shortage of housing in the Moody AFB, GA MHA, personnel require additional time to locate and secure permanent housing. This item extends the end date through which Moody AFB, GA is a location where Service members may receive extended TLE. This item reinstates Moody AFB, GA as a location to receive up to 60 days TLE.11/30/2023
UTD for MAP 82-23(R), Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) Extension –Portsmouth, NH/Kittery, ME Military Housing Area (MHA) NH194Under JTR, par. 050601-B3, the Navy requested a TLE extension for the Portsmouth, NH/Kittery, ME MHA (NH194) because it has determined that the MHA is experiencing a housing shortage that prevents Service members from obtaining adequate permanent Government-owned, Government-controlled, privatized or private-sector rental housing.1/12/2024
UTD for MAP 84-22(R), Ellsworth AFB/Rapid City, SD Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) ExtensionUnder JTR, par. 050601-B3, the Air Force requested a TLE extension for the Ellsworth AFB/Rapid City, SD (SD264) military housing area (MHA) because it has determined that the MHA is experiencing a housing shortage that prevents Service members from obtaining adequate permanent Government-owned, Government-controlled, privatized or private-sector rental housing.12/12/2022
UTD for MAP 85-23(S), PCS Allowances when Attending Professional Education Training or ClassThe FY23 National Defense Authorization Act, Section 625, directs the Department to authorize per diem in the amount of the basic allowance for housing without-dependent rate when the Service member is traveling to the professional military education or training location, on a PCS order, with orders to return to the duty station where the member maintains a primary residence and the dependent of the member resides. According to the law, implementation is mandatory. This authority was signed into law on December 23, 2022 and the effective date for these payments will be retroactive to December 23, 2022.10/31/2023
UTD for MAP 86-22(R) Travel for Non-Covered Reproductive Health Care ServicesAs part of the Secretary of Defense’s initiative on “Ensuring Access to Reproductive Health Care,” the Secretary directed travel and transportation allowances be established for Service members and their dependents, as appropriate and consistent with applicable federal law and operational requirements, to facilitate official travel to access non-covered reproductive health care that is unavailable within the local area of a Service member's permanent duty station. This item adds the authority for travel and transportation of Service members and authorized dependents to receive non-covered reproductive health care services, including abortion and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), when timely access is not available within the local area of the member’s PDS, TDY location, or the last location the dependent was transported on Government orders. Additionally, these items incorporate supplementary JTR revision changes made during coordination through external DoD offices.2/16/2023
