What is DoD Dine Smart?
It is a preferred dining program. When you eat at any of the 24,000+ participating U.S. restaurants and pay with your Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC), you earn cash rebates for the Department of War.
What is the Traveler Rewards program?
It is a free program for you. When you sign up, you earn personal reward points on your GTCC purchases that you can swap for gift cards.
How do I sign up?
Go to dod.dinova.com or download the myDinova Rewards app. Create a free account and securely link your GTCC.
Do I have to use this program?
No, joining is optional. However, the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) require you to use your GTCC for all official travel expenses, including your meals.
How do I earn reward points?
Just pay with your linked GTCC at participating restaurants. You will automatically earn 1 point for every $1 you spend on food, drinks, tax, and tips.
Do I need to show my CAC or a coupon?
No. The restaurant tracks your transaction automatically through your linked card. You do not need to show your ID or mention the program to your server.
Can I get points for past meals?
No. You must link your card before you pay. You cannot claim points for past meals retroactively.
Can the DoD see what I order?
No. Restaurants do not share itemized receipts. The DoD and Dinova only see the restaurant name, location, and the total amount you spent.
Is the mobile app secure?
Yes. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approves the Dinova app, so you can safely install it on your DoD-issued phone.
How do I spend my points?
Check your email for your monthly points statement, or log into your myDinova account. You can trade your points for electronic gift cards to retailers like Amazon and Target. Dinova sends the gift cards to your email within 72 hours.
Can I suggest new restaurants?
Yes! Email your restaurant recommendations to support@mydinova.com.
What happens to my points if I leave the DoD?
You will lose access to the program because Dinova links your rewards to your active GTCC.
How do I update my email?
Log in to your myDinova account and update your profile settings.
